  • The other women | Jessica Moritz | feminist art | israeli art | Tel Aviv

The Other Women The other women serie color pencils felt pen and acrylic on canvas small paintings on paper (20 X 30// 32 X 32) 2018 This Serie is about some stories i heard, read. Like every one, i’m connected. i use social media, i also talk with friends, and take public transportations. Well it came from all of this. Sometimes i felt like reading a vintage crap novel, or rotten gossips. I mean so many stories and i must say for most of them i knew that part of it was not true, another part was to avoid silence, and also to feel better. So if they wanted so bad that people know about that story, why not doing it as a painting or drawing. I started without knowing it would become a serie. I was trying to picture them at the moment. I used vintage Ad, photographs, magazine, to get to this kind of framing. As usual, i worked with layers. Layers of plain colors, drawing, and pattern. This is my trinity. Little by little, the serie was growing. I have still many stories to write and draw. Each story has a little writing, sometimes a poem that tells a little bit more about the piece. After writing and drawing all, something stroke me. Most of the women were insecure, with a big lack of self confidence, and sad. It was kind of sad to realize you gotta go all through all this to feel better. This is why i try to see them as a moment but also in a way to make these women as colorful as they appear to me. A moment in your life cannot define you. neither a line. Collect Limited edition Art prints and accessories from this collection on Society6 Collect

Geometric painting About Us color study & process These works are part of the process behind painting, sculptures, and installation before giving them their original shapes, dimensions and colors. It always starts with a pencil and paper, and slowly introducing colors. sketches, color studies, from minimalism to over saturated. from lines to shapes Purple circles I start by drawing a grid, lines, columns and then i add a circle grid, add intervals, and explore each result with the same color palette. color study around circles, watercolor, acrylic on paper, 325 g, 2022 Letters & Labyrinth I start by drawing a grid, lines, columns and then i add a circle grid, add intervals, and explore each result with the same color palette. *Letters, minimal geometric (painting on canvas) 156 X 138, 2022 Letters Labyrinth, geometric perspective (bas relief) 53 X 41 X 4, 2022 Daedalus Labyrinth On the grid, sometimes i would change intervals, create more or less saturation by color choices or by composition. pigmentd and acrylic on paper, 50 X 70 2022 balance and colors when the color palette is minimal, you can really appreciate the shape for its simplicity and minimal approach. But as soon as you reach 6 colors, no matter how minimal is the composition, you feel the saturation and lose sense of space and breathing within the initial drawing. *various colors studies 2021-2023 All these color studies, drawings are part of the process to create each piece. • Live spectrum | Jessica Moritz | Israeli Art | Tel Aviv | Spectrum Art

Live Spectrum Live Spectrum Installation base on color spectrum (Newton) Acrylic on MDF and polyurethane foam 2019 This installation is composed of "statue" of different characters created from photographic archives. I composed palettes for each character that are based on Newton's spectrum study. Each character interacts differently with each light and especially with each spectator. the character disappears as a digital error (glitch) to leave room for color without figuration. Today we are seeing changes in the art scene. The public is the main subject. In order to develop this theory of the public and the interactions of colors, I realized this installation in order to propose a path of celebration to the spectator. As if Art was waiting for you. In addition, I worked with different color theories and an interaction with RGB lights. The spectrum is always something that defines what we see or not. we have our own perception of colors and space. I wanted to integrate audience as a viewer, actor and recipient of the installation. Also according to Newton's work, i wanted to think about gravity in painting. Be conscious of the space, the pictural one, the exhibition one, and the viewer's. As if gravity has a role in each piece. Characters of this installation is from archives pictures from the beatles, or elvis concert, in euphoria, hysteria state. i wanted to use women representation in the most extreme and intangible way, make them as a women representation in a gallery, one more woman to stand, for me, for us. Each sculpture is like a reverse tomb stone, celebrating life in the white cube, welcoming visitors and bringing new perspective to colors and life insights. collect

  • Random Pattern Memory | Israeli Art | Jessica Moritz | abstract collage for sale | hard edge art

Random Pattern Memory i have been working on compositions in different levels. I decided to invert the process. I created layers of colors, gestures and patterns and play with them until i get a new dynamic. i use geometry and tessellation of shapes or gesture to create new works. using found paper or palette swatches to create new color harmonies, and also focus more on shapes and interactions. i also combine paper weaving and collage to compose layers and create new colorfield perspective. acrylic, spray paint, on paper, 2020 Collect on Saatchi During the process of creating layers of colors, pattern of gestures, I came back to an old technique that i use to make a lot: lino print and woodblock. First i had to chose one shape where i could put inside many patterns and also think about the composition. I wanted each to be special but also to connect them with each other. So started drawing, then carving, and then doing color test and create a new library of pattern, colors and reintroducing texture in my work.

  • About Jessica Moritz | geometric abstract painting | Tel Aviv | Israeli art

About About Jessica moritz French-Israeli artist, lives and works in Tel Aviv. Graduated from the fine arts of Paris (ENSBA),LVMH young artist award 2006, TAKASAGO prize 2008. She believes that order in chaos leads to an equilibrium of harmony. Jessica ’s corpus of art is an infinite voyage. Her calling never discovers a termination. Light is an exceptional commodity for her, the infinite evolution of colors, untangible moment of grace, and interactions with architecture. her process starts by translating this reflection and materialize them in shapes, lines and color harmonies She builds utopian architecture (mindscape) where she unveils impossible geometry. Her art-objects are keys to new dimensions, a new approach of colors. the structures display optical illusion that distract us from rational thinking and logic. Her art is inspired by former Bauhaus artists like Josef Albers. Jessica lives in Tel Aviv, where the traces of this movement are still to be found in the city architecture. Albers inspired Moritz to consider herself profound with the theory of color. Her inquiry led to an inspirational mission to flourish a very own attitude to this optical material. She believes in a sustainable way of producing her art. In consideration of climate change, she reclaims materials to use the existing. She gathers material on her trips and transforms them during a magical process into a new purpose. She tries to avoid a replacement out of senseless consumerism. • Liberty Girls | jessica moritz | erotic painting for sale | erotic illustration | Tel Aviv

Liberty Girls As we watch each other, observe, and identify as bodies, we don't see each other as bodies anymore. Nudity is common, bodies are everyday landscape, nothing to hide, to discover, or to be scared of. in order to create a new way to look at bodies i try to apply the light as a pattern on bodies, to show a new way of seeing lines and intimacy. The purpose is not to cover parts or intimacy but create a new way to look at bodies. lines are driving us to shapes, we underline the skin, overwrite the edges. let's watch it with layers.

  • Staying Alive | Jessica Moritz | Street Art Tel Aviv | Public Art | geometric Abstract

Staying Alive I started in February 2020 to paste up some geometric shapes, colorful hard edge composition, and some with optical illusion. I began by drawing these shapes during the first lockdown thinking about the situation how can all this happen, the paradox of being all alone-together, the new ways we found to interact with each other and missing natural light. In Jewish tradition, when someone dies, we paste up their name in the neighborhood that everyone can assist at funerals and visit family. So I twisted this idea. And pasted symbols (for me) of life, memories of happiness, an icon of life in places where life was missing, or places that I wanted to give love. Often, friends can tell you I would answer a question by I’m alive. Therefore I keep on creating. There is no logic in the making, there is no logic in life/death matters. Why waiting it’s over to celebrate Life?
