The Spontaneity of Drawing: From Sketch to Surrealism

Part of my process is rooted in the spontaneous act of drawing, which I see as scratching a match before a bonfire. I use illustration and fine lines, but my method is also one of deliberate mistakes; erasing, covering, cutting, and taping, only to start over.
Working on paper is particularly important to me because the material is honest. You know you can't cover the same area repeatedly without changing its texture and integrity. This forces a certain commitment to each mark.
While my work often explores geometric abstract and Op Art themes, some of my drawings on paper also delve into surrealism and figurative representation. I believe it was a necessary period in my artistic journey to reflect reality and express the subconscious.

Geometric
Color Studies

Geometric painting on paper transforms simple shapes into an organized exploration of color. By utilizing geometric forms, I can showcase how colors interact, enhancing the visual experience through optical illusions. This unique approach allows for a vibrant display that engages viewers and elevates the potential of both shape and hue in a composition.

Experience the dynamic interplay of geometry and color in every piece.

Random Pattern memory

Dive into a more experimental side of my work with the Random Pattern Memory series. This collection inverts my usual creative process, focusing on building compositions through layers of color, texture, and pattern. By using collage, paper weaving, and found materials, these pieces explore the spontaneous interplay of elements to create new color field perspectives.

Anatomy of an Aritst

Discover a more introspective and symbolic body of work with the Anatomy of an Artist series. This collection of ink drawings serves as a personal metaphor, a visual dissection of the artist's perspective on the world. Inspired by surrealism, these pieces explore the core essence of creativity by stripping away color and focusing on the raw power of line and shape.

The other women

Inspired by the raw stories and unspoken truths of everyday life, The Other Women is a series that transforms personal anecdotes into vibrant visual narratives. Drawing from found imagery like vintage ads and photographs, each piece is built in layers—just as our lives are—to capture a moment, a memory, or a feeling. The result is a colorful and empathetic portrait of resilience, celebrating the women behind the stories.
